Total to sign new contracts offshore Cyprus

The government of the Republic of Cyprus is examining to announce a new licensing round at the end of 2019 or early 2020. The Energy Ministry of the RoC intensively prepares the technical and legal aspects of the new round. According to the same information a second appraisal well is expected by Noble in block 12 for Aphrodite reservoir.

At the same time, Total is expanding its operations offshore Cyprus by signing contracts for block 7 and joins Eni in blocks 2, 3 and 9. The final administrative and legal processes remain and are expected to finish by the end of July.

Another matter that moves forward is the development of a permanent base serving the oil and gas companies at Vasilico which will allow drills at the same time. This is a priority of the oil and gas companies operating in Cyprus EEZ.
